TIM SHAW  (Athlete, Class of 2017)

 

 

Tim Shaw is another of Warren’s athletes who got an early start in Warren’s youth sports programs. Playing Little League and Senior Little League, he was a member of the Senior Little League All Star team for three successive years. Tim was one of the athletes who had the unique opportunity to participate in the last years of Warren High School and the beginning years of Mt. Hope High School sports.

 

 

 

 

In 1992, while still playing for Warren High School, Tim was named 2nd Team all league at linebacker. The Warren Gridiron 11 were Super Bowl finalists in their final year of 1992.

 

 

 

 

 

In the fall of 1993, Tim found himself starting over as he competed for a spot on the newly formed Mt. Hope Huskies Football Team. He won a starting role as an offensive end. Moving from Class D to Class B, he was named 2nd All State and 1st All Class B Offensive End.  These awards made him one of the first of the Mt Hope athletes to receive All State and All Class recognition.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

In 1994 Tim was named Co-Captain of the football team. He was named 1st All Class B Tight end/Wide receiver (offensive end) that same year.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In the spring of 1995 Tim was a starter on the Mt Hope baseball team that won the Class B East Division. He was named 2nd All Class B East for the 1995 season. During his high school career, Tim had the unique opportunity to close out one storied sports program (Warren High Redskins) and start another (Mt. Hop Huskies).

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He’s among the few athletes who lettered in sports at both schools. Tim went on to Plymouth State College where he played tight end for their nationally ranked football team from 1995 to 1999. His Plymouth State 1999 team won the ECAC Championship.
