MIKE MAROLLA (Athlete, Class of 2018)

Mike Marolla first broke on the scene as a baseball player in the mid 1990’s, playing in the Warren Little League Program and Warren Senior Baseball League. In 1994, he was named to the Senior League all-star team. By the time Mike got to High school, the Warren and Bristol school systems had merged. Earning a starting position on an athletic team got a whole lot harder as now athletes who had played for 2 different teams were vying for slots on just one team.

Mike won a starting position on the football team as Defensive Lineman and Offensive End. In 1996 he was named All State as a Defensive Lineman. Playing on the other side of the ball, he was named All Division II Offensive End.

Each year, the RI chapter of the National Football Foundation and College Hall of Fame selects the top 12 senior student athletes from the state’s high school football teams. In 1997, they named Mike Marolla as one of the 12 scholar-athletes for excellence in the classroom and on the playing field. Each school can submit one athlete to compete for the Journal Bulletin Honor Roll Boy. Mike was also Mt. Hope High School’s choice to compete for this honor.
