Mention wrestling in the local area and one name will always come up, Chris Drance. Chris has been involved in youth wrestling for longer than many people hold jobs. Starting in 1989 and continuing to the present day, Chris has spent almost 30 years coaching and administering youth wrestling. In addition to his local involvement in wrestling he served at the state level, as the Chairman of the RI Wrestling Association from 2015-2017.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

He was also Vice Chairman from 2003 to 2015 and 2017-2018. In addition, he served as a USA Wrestling Mat Official from 2002-2012. Under Chrisís guidance, the Warren Wrestling Club has produced an amazing five State Champion Teams, and one State Co-Champion Team. His Warren Grapplers have fielded multiple State Individual Champions in many different weight classes and divisions. Chrisís Warren Wrestling Club, (over the years), has served as a feeder program to the various local high schools. His programs have helped high school teams by providing wrestlers well-schooled in the sport by the time they reach the high school level. Chris continues to serve as the head of the Warren Wrestling Club and the State Wrestling Association, providing guidance and coaching to local youth interested in the sport of wrestling.
